1st and 2nd grade March 4, 2009

The 1st and 2nd graders in their study of popcorn learned about different types of corn. There are eight different types of corn we studied. Flour corn contains very soft kernels and can be easily crushed into corn flour. What is sweet corn? You are right....... the type of corn we eat!

The 1st and 2nd graders are currently completing a unit of study on Popcorn! We discussed myths and fables , looked up their definitions in the dictionary and read a few of each. They then wrote their own fable about "Why the Kernel Pops?" They shared their stories with the class. There were many creative ideas.
